With such high demands on the human body, artistic athletes continually push the boundaries of strength, stability, mobility and flexibility in order to achieve their goals and perform at their best. We at PhysiGOtherapy are proud to provide a service that strives to reduce the high injury rates experienced within this population, and fill the significant gap between injury prevention and management.

Injury Prevention Program

At PhysiGOtherapy we are passionate about educating artistic athletes on the importance of injury prevention and management to maximize their performance potential, improve their technical execution, and prevent lost practice time due to injuries. As the demands of complex skills/choreography and high level competition continue to build, it is of crucial importance now more so than ever that artistic athletes are screened for their injury risk and provided with the body awareness required for them to perform at their peak.

Overall: What can we offer you?

We offer you what is needed specific for YOU.  Conventionally, we provide a free telephone consultation to determine your needs and provide you with specific costs and therapy details.  We then like to meet in person for an assessment where we will determine your needs and customize a personal program that we tailor to fit your goals and needs.

Please see the list below for examples of current programs we offer:

     1) Sports Specific Conditioning - Both Pre-hab and Rehab for both high level & intermediate level athletes

    2) Surgical Pre-habilitation - Prior to undergoing surgery, research has proven that preparing & training our body and mind before surgery provides successful outcomes post surgery - faster recovery times and decreased discomfort/pain post-op have been shown in numerous physical therapy journals.

    3) Fitness Mentoring - both mental and physical education & training can help you reach your target goals in life for your physical and mental health.   (Please Note: PGT provides a receipt for your extended health benefits reimbursement programs when applicable)

    4) Preventative Rehabilitation - for example, young female adolescents playing sports such as basketball and soccer are more susceptible to knee injuries such as ACL and/or meniscus tears.  Providing physical therapy knowledge and training can help prevent some of these injuries;   Systematic Reviews (highest level of research available) such as Cochrane Databases supports these notions.
